Our History
We are members of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Knights of Columbus (KOFC), the Enlisted Association of the New York National Guard (EANGNY) Auxiliary, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Hilderbrand-Davis Post #1895 Auxiliary, in Rotterdam, New York, the Dietray Managers Association (DMA), and Slow Food International, and SLOW FOOD USA, founded in 1986, in Rome, Italy.
Slow Food International is a global, grassroots movement founded in 1986 to counter fast food culture with an emphasis on "good, clean, and fair" food. It is organized into over 2,000 local groups called convivia in more than 160 countries, with its international headquarters in Bra, Italy, in the northwest Italian region of Piedmont. The SLOW FOOD INTERNATIONAL movement works to protect food biodiversity, support local producers, small farmers, educate consumers, and advocate for sustainable and equitable food systems.
